DAVID RHOADS
Director of Operations
I'm David, and I love being part of the family of God and working in His “family business” of search and rescue. That has taken many forms over the seasons of my life, but today that looks like serving with InnerLife Ministries on various projects.
Throughout my life, every time I thought I knew what I was doing, God surprised me with a better plan. I have learned to hold my future loosely, leaning on Proverbs 16:9: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
In my earliest years of adulthood, I expected to pursue professional media production for ministries and non-profits. My first major project was filming and editing videos for a small group discipleship program called Untying the Knots of the Heart (UTK). I found the content deeply insightful and impactful, and I was grateful to help bring it to life—even though God ultimately led me to a different career path.
Several years later, I found myself in a season of depression and relational pain, struggling with God and wondering why life felt so hard. Remembering my time with the UTK videos, I decided to take the course myself. The experience was life-changing! Walking through the UTK process gave me a clearer understanding of the pain we experience living in a fallen world. Most importantly, it also showed me that my heavenly Father wants me to bring my hurt to Him so that He can heal me with his overwhelming love.
After several years facilitating UTK groups on a volunteer basis, God called me to join Inner Life Ministries full-time. I am excited and blessed to serve the Lord as I help others experience God’s transforming love as I have. When I’m not serving, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Dayziah, playing soccer, and 3D printing.
