KATHIE CARLSON

I’m Kathie and my passion is to see God’s people thrive in the callings the Lord places on their hearts and lives. I long to see people transformed.

In 2012, as a missionary with an aching heart, I participated in an Untying the Knots of the Heart group. The level of engagement with the gospel was deeply life- and love-shifting in my relationships with God and others. In the months that followed, I felt God inviting me to use my cross-cultural and curriculum design background, as well as my own personal experience with Untying the Knots of the Heart, to come alongside InnerLife Ministries. 

I taught secondary English and journalism for eight years, and worked as Director of Communications for an international corporation. I hold a BA in English and an MEd in Educational Technology. Having traveled to and worked in over 30 countries, I have a rich appreciation of various cultures and a delight in the image of God in people around the world. 

As an associate with Paraclete Mission Group, I serve multiple mission organizations as a speaker, presenter and trainer of trainers, and I provide personal counseling to Christian leaders. I have over 25 years of work and ministry experience as an education specialist, curriculum developer, team manager and member care provider.

True story: I have a very expressive face! As I was leading a multi-day training event in East Asia, a local colleague wondered how people in the audience who spoke no English seemed to understand the stories I was telling and would begin to nod, or laugh or cry even before the translator translated my words. She finally realized that they were reading my face and body language while I was talking, and figuring out for themselves what I was saying!

My husband Brad and I live in Boise. We cherish our relationships with our son, both sets of parents, and our siblings and their families.
