Serving with innerlife ministries

I'm David, and I love being part of the family of God and working in His “family business” of search and rescue. That has taken many forms over the season of my life, but today that looks like serving with InnerLife Ministries on various projects.

Throughout my life, every time I’ve thought I knew what I was doing, God has surprised me with a better plan. I’ve learned to hold my future loosely, leaning on Proverbs 16:9: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

In the early years of adulthood, I expected to pursue professional media production for ministries and non-profits. My first major project was filming and editing videos for a small group discipleship program called Untying the Knots of the Heart (UTK). I found the content deeply insightful and impactful, and I was grateful to help bring it to life—even though God ultimately led me into a different career path.

Years later, I found myself in a season of depression and relational pain, struggling with God and wondering why life felt so hard. Remembering my time with the UTK videos, I decided to take the course myself. The experience was life-changing. It gave me a clearer understanding of my pain and showed me that my heavenly Father wants me to bring my hurt to Him so He can heal me with His overwhelming love.

Since then, I’ve facilitated UTK groups at my church and joined Inner Life Ministries to help others experience God’s transforming love as I have. When I’m not serving, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Dayziah, playing soccer, and 3D printing.
